About Kay...

Hi! My name is Kay. I'm the author of offbeat yet relatable fantasy and cozy mystery novels for both adults and teens. I live in coastal Virginia and am fueled by the highly-caffeinated, obnoxiously-determined voices in my head. I have two kiddos, one spouse, and a boundless love for salt.

As a professionally trained chef, I've spent over a decade reading and writing fantasy and paranormal novels giving my characters a dash of romance, a pinch of humor, and a splash of quirk! No need to ask what's for dinner... The kiddos have already requested chicken nuggets. Frozen, of course.

Writerly Info

Should I join a professional writing organization?

Yes, especially when you're first starting your writing career. I have gleaned invaluable knowledge about writing craft and insight into the publishing industry.

However, it's not a requirement. But the publishing industry can be a bit overwhelming at times, so becoming part of a writing community is a wonderful source of friendship and support.

What organizations do you recommend?

Feel free to send a message via my contact form if you have more specific questions. I believe in writers helping writers! And I will reply as quickly as possible. Write on!
